A Morning of Story Time and Smiles at the Turbo Babies Event on SPC's Clearwater Campus


Some of my favorite mornings behind the camera are the ones filled with tiny giggles, sticky fingers from face paint, and parents reading to their little ones. That was exactly the scene on August 29th at the Turbo Babies event held on the St. Petersburg College Clearwater campus.


About the Turbo Babies Campaign


Turbo Babies is part of a Pinellas County early-childhood initiative built around a simple idea: everyday moments, like reading, talking, and playing, help build a baby's brain. This event brought that mission to life with a full morning of hands-on fun for local families.


Candid Moments from the Event


I spent the morning capturing candid moments throughout the event, families curled up together over picture books, toddlers mid-giggle at a face painting station, and little ones getting creative at the coloring table. The City of Clearwater mayor stopped by to visit with families, and the character Blippi made a surprise appearance that had kids buzzing with excitement all morning. A breakfast bar kept everyone fueled up for a morning of play and connection.


Why These Moments Matter


What I loved most about this session was how natural it all felt. No posed smiles or "look at the camera" moments, just real families enjoying a morning together. Those are the images that hold up over time, the ones that actually look like your life.
